Mule Tree

समाधिBot: Okay, take me through this card.

India: This is a card I was gonna give to my teacher, Miss Blair, but I think someone took it. Anyway, but I bet it was Zahra, because she always takes things… with pink on the inside.

समाधिBot: Yes, I think she did. Tell me about the drawing on the front.

India: Oh yeah, I did that one.

समाधिBot: Who’s that flying?

India: Oh that’s just… well Zahra wanted me to do a little girrrllll, so I drew a little girl. Then Zahra made me do that, and I had to turn it into an angel.

समाधिBot: Oh it’s an angel flying over a Christmas tree?

India: It’s not a Christmas tree, it’s a Mule tree.

समाधिBot: A Mule tree?!

India: Yeah, Mule tree.

समाधिBot: … As in muletide cheer?

India: Yeah. It’s a tree which… those weird things called mules eat from.

समाधिBot: Ah okay! Got it.

India: That’s why it’s called a Mule tree.

India: And on the inside, that’s Miss Blair. She’s the Sugar Plum Fairy in this one.

समाधिBot: Miss Blair’s the Sugar Plum Fairy, and lives in a land with a candy cane. It’s a good job if you can get it.

India: Yeah.

समाधिBot: What does Miss Blair teach you?

India: Well, we do things like dégagés, and rond de jambes… pliés…

समाधिBot: Is Miss Blair your French teacher?

India: …

समाधिBot: She teaches you lots of French things.

India: Yes but that’s because ballet was pretty much started in French World.

समाधिBot: Oh, Miss Blair’s your ballet teacher.

India: Yes. That’s the tiny door.

समाधिBot: What’s through the door?

India: Oh, through the door is the back of the stage, where they put these big hot lights you’re not a’sposed to touch. Yeah, things like that.

समाधिBot: Do you think there are doors like that in real life?

India: … I don’t know…

समाधिBot: It would be weird and surprising, wouldn’t it? To walk through a door and find out you’re just on a stage.

India: Yeah. That would be funny. Anyway, I think it’s quite funny how on the back of this, Taji drew this one. I put him in charge of doing the back, and he did this:

समाधिBot: He did?

India: Yes he did.

समाधिBot: I love the back!

India: He did this one, and he did the mouth of that one which I think is quite funny. Well, he kind of helped. Well, he helped by making me do the wing. He told me which pattern to do. But on this one he kind of smudged me, so now it looks weird.
